Assistant Maintenance Manager - River Ridge Seniors Village

Under the direction of the Site Leader and the Maintenance Manager, the Assistant Maintenance Manager is responsible to work as a Team for the overall maintenance and management of the building and grounds. The responsibilities of the position include:

• Back up support to the site Maintenance Manager.
• Ensuring that all required checks are executed, promptly logged and documented.
• Maintaining the building in a safe and operable condition.
• Maintaining the building envelope and overseeing the grounds.
• Executing on work orders, preventative maintenance using the Maintenance Care computer program.
• Painting of vacant suites and touch ups in common areas.
• Prioritizing items needing attention and repair.
• Performing all routine, scheduled and emergency building maintenance.
• Supporting the fire safety program for the home and provide staff orientation & Training on the Fire Alarm System.
• Ensuring in the winter that sidewalks, patios and all exit areas are clear of ice and snow; shoveling/sanding and salting as required.
• Able to obtain quotes and oversee subcontractors and trades.

Available to work Monday to Friday and cover for emergencies and other times as scheduled by the Maintenance Manager, and Site Leader.

Must Haves:

• Relevant training and experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Ability to read and interpret building drawings and codes is preferred.
• Computer skills including working knowledge of MS office.
• Effective verbal and written English communication, organization and interpersonal skills is required.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Provide backup to the Maintenance Manager during leave and at other times as required.
• Available to be on call as required and provide emergency after hours support.
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check and provide proof of vaccination for COVID-19.
• WHMIS training and Occupational Health and Safety Certifications are assets.
• Provide physical wellness proof to carry out the work.

The successful applicant's wage will be based on relevant qualifications, training/education and supervisory, management experience.
