A Quality Assurance Lead in Ontario's long-term care sector develops and manages a total quality management framework for the Ministry of Long-Term Care, ensuring consistent application of business processes, procedures, and outputs, and promoting high-quality standards. This role involves implementing continuous improvement practices, ensuring legal standards are met, and providing technical advice and guidance to team members. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and managing a quality management framework:
Utilizing techniques like Lean Six Sigma to drive consistency in processes and outputs. 
  • Ensuring legal standards are met:
Adhering to all relevant regulations and legislation. 
  • Implementing continuous improvement practices:
Identifying areas for enhancement and implementing strategies for improvement. 
  • Providing technical advice and leadership:
Guiding and supporting team members, including developing work plans, establishing priorities, and resolving issues. 
  • Monitoring and reporting on quality:
Assessing the quality of deliverables, monitoring performance, and reporting on findings. 
  • Leading the accreditation process:
Organizing, preparing, and overseeing all Accreditation initiatives. 
  • Risk management:
Utilizing risk management frameworks to identify, monitor, analyze, and report on quality, safety, and risk situations. 
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team:
Working with various teams to ensure quality standards are met and programs are successful. 

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance standards and processes: Understanding of testing tools, techniques, and automation. 
  • Experience in team management and development: Ability to foster strong teams and coordinate resources. 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to assess project status, make recommendations, and resolve issues. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. 
  • Experience in long-term care is an asset: Knowledge of the sector and its specific needs is valuable.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • Membership or eligible for membership with Ontario College of Nurses
